- I recently had a batch of mixture that wouldn't blend properly. It was lumpy, had spots of oil on the top and slid off the spoon as I scooped it out. At first I thought that the oil had briefly over-chilled in the fridge (it at one time came out cloudy like olive oil that has been too cold). However further investigation pointed the finger at the quark. The pots I had bought were poorly dated (less than 2 days sell by date) and one of them I used after the sell buy date. With new quark (+10 days dated) the problem cleared up.
- Dairy intolerance : As quark is a dairy product, some people have dairy intolerances and may react. There are recommendations that soft tofu is an acceptable substitute. If anyone is trying this it would be interesting to find out.
- Sometimes there can be reduction of waistline without weight loss. Apparently the fat turns to muscle (?)
- Along with the loss of fat I have been wondering about potential muscle loss. I am experimenting with a powdered Hemp Protein supplement. Yes, this seems to work OK
